Plume Launches nBND Vault Backed by Fidelity Bond ETF Shares
Plume's new nBND vault tokenizes shares of Fidelity's Total Bond ETF, expanding institutional access to fixed-income assets on-chain.
Plume, an Open Finance platform focused on institutional assets, has introduced a new tokenized vault tied to the Fidelity Total Bond ETF (NASDAQ: FBND), pushing further into the growing intersection of traditional fixed-income markets and blockchain-based finance.
The nBND vault holds shares of FBND, an actively managed exchange-traded fund that invests across investment-grade bonds, high-yield debt, and emerging markets debt securities. By wrapping the ETF in a tokenized structure, Plume aims to give institutional participants on-chain exposure to a diversified fixed-income portfolio traditionally accessible only through conventional brokerage channels.

The launch reflects a broader acceleration in the tokenization of real-world assets, a trend drawing increasing attention from asset managers, fintech platforms, and regulators alike. Tokenized vehicles can potentially reduce settlement times, lower transaction costs, and broaden global access to asset classes that have historically required significant infrastructure to reach.
Plume's approach of anchoring the vault to an actively managed Fidelity product rather than a passive index fund is notable. Active management introduces professional credit selection and duration management, qualities that could appeal to institutional investors seeking more than simple market-cap-weighted bond exposure in a digital wrapper.
