Freshworks to Join S&P SmallCap 600 Index on October 8
Freshworks will replace BioLife Solutions in the S&P SmallCap 600 after Repligen acquires BioLife, triggering the index reshuffle.
Freshworks Inc. (FRSH) is set to enter the S&P SmallCap 600 index before markets open on Thursday, October 8, 2026, according to an announcement from S&P Dow Jones Indices. The software company will take the slot vacated by BioLife Solutions Inc. (BLFS), which is being removed from the benchmark.
The move is driven by an acquisition rather than performance. Repligen Corp. (RGEN), currently a constituent of the S&P MidCap 400, is purchasing BioLife Solutions, which automatically disqualifies BioLife from continued membership in the SmallCap 600. Index rules require that acquired companies be removed once a deal is completed or imminent.

Freshworks, a cloud-based customer and employee experience software provider, joins the index at a time when enterprise software companies occupy a notable share of small- and mid-cap benchmarks. Repligen, a life sciences tools firm focused on bioprocessing, continues its presence in the S&P MidCap 400 following the BioLife transaction.
