FedMSB Forms Committee to Develop AmeriUSD Digital Dollar System
The Federal Money Services Business Association launched the NDDC to coordinate development of AmeriUSD, a proposed U.S. digital dollar for payments and settlement.
The Federal Money Services Business Association (FedMSB) announced Tuesday the formation of the National Digital Dollar Committee (NDDC), an industry body tasked with advancing AmeriUSD — a proposed digital dollar system intended to modernize U.S. payments, remittances and settlement infrastructure.
The newly established committee represents a coordinated industry effort to develop what FedMSB is branding as "The Digital Dollar System," positioned as a next-generation framework for domestic and cross-border financial transactions. The announcement was made from New York on Sept. 30, 2026.

The move reflects broader momentum within the financial services industry to formalize private-sector coordination around digital currency infrastructure, as debates over the role of digital dollars in the U.S. monetary system continue among regulators, legislators and market participants.
AmeriUSD, as described by FedMSB, is designed to address the evolving demands of modern payment rails, including remittance corridors that have historically carried high transaction costs and settlement delays. The NDDC is expected to serve as the primary coordination body guiding the initiative's technical and policy development.
Details on committee membership, governance structure and a development timeline were not disclosed in the initial announcement. Continue reading at Cryptocurrency.
